Miller arrives to tell you about matching Vaclav Kolar's fingerprints with those found at the crime scenes.
Before going to the campus, talk to Pat and note that he's trying to fix the jacuzzi.

After breaking down Kolar's door, have a look around his apartment noting his obsession with serial killers.
As you leave Kolar's apartment, his neighbour (Mia) arrives. She says that Kolar is probably having a massage at the club where she works.

Miller was unable to get into the club and you won't have much success either. The bouncer insists on seeing your pass before allowing you in. Perhaps Mia can help...

As soon as you enter her apartment, Mia receives a phone call and rushes downstairs. Take the opportunity to examine everything carefully. Note that you should leave the photo album for last as removing the picture of her and the next victim triggers Mia's return.
You learn that Mia was supposed to do a portrait of Stephanie (the next victim) at her studio.

The gate leading to the studios is locked, so enter the gallery through the front entrance.
While walking along the metal gangway to the studio Richard spots the body down below. In the cut scene that follows Mia is seen entering and leaving the studio through the roller shutter door. You send Richard to call the police and to look after Mia.
At the elevator entrance a number of items are strewn next to Stephanie's handbag. Although you can take her ID pass, the silver rose is wedged under the elevator.
Examine the body noting the killer's message - A SINNER'S PARDON. Take the photograph of Mia, marked on the reverse side as being the next victim.
If you try open the roller shutter door (the one Mia opened) the chain breaks free. Do you recall seeing the large hook when you were on the gangway? Take the elevator back up to the gangway, attach the chain to the hook and then climb down. You can now pick up the silver rose.
The cavalry arrive and Todd Browning tells you that Miller has Vaclav Kolar in for questioning.
Before returning to the office, go back inside the gallery and tell Richard to keep a close watch over Mia.

The interrogation of Kolar confirms your suspicions that he isn't the killer. While Miller and Browning are having it out you should concentrate on finding a way to get access into the Red Lantern.
Although Victoria bears a striking resemblance to Nico (in Broken Sword 3) she certainly won't fool the bouncer with Stephanie's photo on the ID pass. Perhaps the photo can be replaced with one of Victoria. Have you seen a photo of Victoria anywhere? There are two photos, either of which can be used. The first is on Richard's desk (at the gallery) and the second in the dining room at Pat's house. Note that you won't be able to take the photo at Pat's house until you get Stephanie's ID pass. If you don't have a photo, you need to go fetch one of them.
Use the paper cutter on Claire's desk (in the general office) to remove Stephanie's picture from her ID pass and to trim Victoria's picture to the right size. Next, combine the blank (unplasticized) ID pass and Victoria's photo in your inventory and use the plasticizer to complete your new ID pass.

Show your new ID pass to the bouncer to gain access into the club.
The door to your left (when you enter the club) is locked. To open the door you need to use the keypad with the numbers 1 - 6 on it. The inscription on the left provides the 'key' to which numbers must be entered.

The objects in the adjoining three rooms contain the clues necessary to decipher the inscription. A description for each object is only given when you first examine it, so I suggest that you 'save' a game at this point in case you need to have the descriptions repeated.

Input the correct 6-digit code to open the door and enter the room with four life-size female statues.

The statues are, from left to right, the Baroness of Blood, Lady Temptation, Queen of Secrets and the Mistress of Pain. You need to find the 'objects they desire most'.
In a bowl of fruit on the table between the second and third statues is the bottom half of a silver apple. If you did see the other half somewhere else, Victoria will automatically know what to do next. If not, you have to figure it out for yourself.
You also need to find the other items that must be given to the statues.

After solving the statues puzzle, the floor opens to reveal a staircase leading to a secret chamber below.

You need to find a way to get to the book behind the locked gate. Examine the fireplace in the room to the left of the gate. Take the puzzle piece and the tip of a key from the mantlepiece above the fire. Note the keyhole to the left of the fire and the passageway behind it. Also study the painting above the fireplace.

The fireplace in the room to the right of the locked gate also has a painting above it. This painting is in the form of a 'slider' puzzle. The idea is to replicate the painting in the other room.
The solution below is by no means the only way to solve the slider puzzle. Also note that if you step away from the close up view and then return to it, the pieces revert to their original positions.

SOLUTION - click the pieces corresponding to the numbers above

6, 9, 8, 7, 4, 5, 6, 9, 8, 5, 4, 7, 8, 9, 6, 3, 2, 1, 4, 5, 8, 7, 4, 1
2, 5, 6, 9, 8, 5, 6, 3, 2, 1, 4, 5, 2, 3, 6, 5, 8, 9, 6, 3, 2, 1, 4, 5

After doing this the centre piece will be missing, so insert the puzzle piece you found in the other room.
The painting recedes into the wall, revealing a key handle. Take the handle and then combine it with the key tip in your inventory. The completed key fits the keyhole in the fireplace in the other room.
There are some very interesting names in the book!

At this point the game switches back to Gus - Chapter 6
